Instability following the global financial crisis and COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated challenges for young people. In Europe for example, with these and other regional factors, youth unemployment now exceeds the world average, at an estimated 16.4 per cent.4
The economic challenges facing young people tend to start at school age, yet don’t typically stop there. To support ongoing empowerment and skills development, Futuremakers comprises of different projects that target young people at different points of early career development.
We work with strategic and implementing partners across Europe and the Americas to deliver these projects. In this spotlight, we share details of some of these partnerships, including stories of young people who’ve found their own paths to economic inclusion thanks to Futuremakers.
