Online Assessment
Our online assessment is made up of two parts – a behavioural skills assessment and a reasoning skills assessment. Together, they assess the behaviours and skills to show us how you typically work.
Workplace Scenario Assessment
This assessment is your opportunity to showcase your skills and experience. You’ll be asked several questions which you’ll film your answers to. Don’t worry, you’ll be given time to prepare and practise.
Assessment Centre
This is where we really get to know you - your experiences, skills, and what’s motivated you to apply. This includes your studies, extracurricular activities, and personal perspectives. You'll take part in a mix of activities - group exercises, interviews or scenarios - all designed to help you show your strengths.
Here are some practical tips to help your application stand out. Remember, every stage of the application and interview process is an opportunity to show us who you are. Best of luck!
Do your research
Understand the Bank’s values, our business and the role you’re applying for. Then show us how your skills align.
Tailor your application
Show clear examples on your CV that highlight your strengths, achievements, and motivation.
Show your potential
We don’t expect you to know everything – we’re looking for curiosity, a willingness to learn, and a growth mindset.
Prepare for assessments
Practice online tests, make sure you know your CV inside out, and think about how you might structure your answers in interviews using the STAR method.
Be yourself
Authenticity matters. Let your personality and interests shine through.

At Standard Chartered, we believe that talent isn’t defined by background – it’s shaped by potential, curiosity, and the skills you build along the way. As a skills-first organisation, we focus on what you can do and what you’re ready to learn, not just where you’ve come from.
Our early careers programmes are designed to help you discover your strengths, grow your capabilities, and make a real difference from day one. You’ll gain hands-on experience, learn from inspiring leaders, and build the skills that will set you up for success – wherever your career takes you next.
Your impact starts here.
